The temple of Suryaputra Lord Shani Dev ji is established at Kosi Kalan Mathura. It comes in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh; Nandgaon, Barsana and Shri Banke Bihari Temple, ShriKrishna Birth Place are situated in the vicinity. This temple is established from the time of Lord Krishna. When Lord Krishna was born, all the deities had gone to visit him, in which Shani Dev had also gone, but the mother Yashoda and Nandbaba did not get to see Lord Krishna due to the curved vision of Shani Dev Maharaj. Saturn Maharaj felt great sorrow because the curve sight is also given to Lord Shri Krishna. What is my fault in this? So, Lord Krishna understood the misery of his devotee, and gave this inspiration to Shani Maharaj in the dream that there is a forest in the north from Nandgaon, where you go and worship you, if you do my devotion, then I will come and see you. Saturn did the same thing. So Lord Krishna appeared as Satyam Maharaj in the form of cuckoo in the aforementioned forest, and the name of the aforementioned forest was kokilavan by transforming from koil. And told Shani Maharaj that from today onwards, you will remain on this and your curve sight will remain moist when you are staying here. And I too will sit with Radha in the left direction of yours. You will have to fulfill the devotees who come to you with any kind of troubles. And you will be worshiped more than me in Kalyuga.

History of the temple:


The mention of Kokila Bihari ji is mentioned in Garud Puran and Narada Purana. So Shanihamraj is considered to be in Kokilvan only since the time of Lord Krishna. For some time in the middle of the temple, the temple had become drenched. About three hundred and a half years ago, Bharatpur Maharaj had been in Rajasthan, with the inspiration of God, he revived the dilapidated temple in his Kokilvan with his treasury. Since then, day temple has been developing day by day. Premdas ji Maharaj is here as the manager and operator of the temple and in the form of Shrimhant, here, we live here from the age of six years of our life which is presently the temple manager and Shri Mahant. During his tenure, the development of the temple and the attachment of people have increased greatly. The above Shani Dev temple is considered as the ancient Shani Dev temple in India, due to being in Braj, it is history.
