Mass Production
Mass Production
A few types of products are manufactured in large
quantities. The volumes are high and products are standardised which allows
resources to be organised around particular products. Mass Production is
characterised by the following features:
1. Standard products are manufactured.
2. Standardised inputs and standardised operations are used for manufacturing.
3. Large volume of products.
4. Shorter cycle time of production.
5. Less supervision is required.
6. Perfectly balanced production lines.
7. Flow of materials, components and parts are continuous
8. Production planning and control are easy.
